MotoAmerica Superbike and Superstock 1000 machines will be significantly louder, beginning with round seven at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, July 17-19. A new rule pushes the decibel limit from the current 107 decibels to 115 decibels (just like MotoGP).
MotoAmerica founding partner Chuck Aksland explains. “It’s good for fans and relates noise to performance, as it should be. Everybody is pretty pumped.”
So the big bikes will really have the chance to roar. And while some fans oppose the new rule, most comments from the MotoAmerica Facebook page have been very positive.
